Winter Holidays Begins with Our Annual Lighting Ceremony

We celebrated our second winter season starting with a lighting ceremony, a tradition we plan to do on the 8th of December every year. The ski lifts are open, guests from all over the world have arrived and the snow has been falling steadily to deliver the perfect winter wonderland. On Friday, 8 December, we invited our guests and the local community to celebrate with us. 

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the celebrations, the event was a big success made possible by your presence. Our guests enjoyed a live music performance by a talented guitarist from the UK while sipping on their drink of choice during happy hour at our Lounge Bar by Park90. 

The event began at 18:00 with an opening performance from local kids band, Mt.Youtei Jr. Jazz School Band. Youtei Jazz is a group of 14 children who gave an amazing performance and set the mood for the evening while our guests started gathering in the lobby. Their performance was filled with love and the effort they put into their music was evident. 

Special mention goes to meli melo -Yuki No Koe- who provided a Christmas drink cart serving complimentary hot drinks to our guests. Guests could choose from hot mulled wine, hot chocolate and hot apple cider. 

Many of you may have seen the grand 7m Christmas tree which has been patiently waiting to be lit since the end of November (and it is different from last winter, this time decorated with a red theme bringing both joy and a Christmassy feel to it, we love it). 

We invited guests to take part in decorating the tree in the days leading up to the ceremony. They were welcome to place baubles on the tree, making it even more special. 

The event centred around the Official Light Up Ceremony with a speech by our Hotel Manager, Michiko Tamoto. She said 'Welcome to the Setsu Niseko lighting ceremony. This isn't just our second lighting of our beautiful, big Christmas Tree, but also our second winter of operations. We are so excited for the season ahead and to be able to do this with you all.  To me, Setsu Niseko is not just a hotel but a destination for all from small children to grandparents, it is the experience that matters and we want you to feel welcomed and have a great time with us, not just tonight but throughout your stay and every time you visit Setsu Niseko. Thank you for choosing our hotel and letting us to be part of your winter holiday,'

And we invited our little guests to press the lighting switch and light up the Christmas tree. 5 4 3 2 1, Happy Holiday!
