Japan’s New Digital Nomad Visa

This March, Japan will be introducing a digital nomad visa allowing those who work remotely to experience the rich culture of Japan for up to six months. What is the Digital Nomad Visa?

If you are interested in the Digital Nomad Visa, here is what it offers;

• 6 months to travel or live anywhere in Japan while working remotely.
• Approval for your spouse and/or children to join you for the duration of the visa.

What are the requirements for the Digital Nomad Visa?

This may sound like something you want to do! So, how do you qualify for this visa? There are a few prerequisites you have to show to be granted this visa. They are as follows;

• You must be a citizen of one of these 49 countries.
• You must show a minimum income of ¥10 million per year. 
• You must have private health insurance for the duration of your stay. 
• You must be employed by a company outside of Japan, self employed workers and freelancers included.

There are plenty of sunny days and little rain making it perfect weather to explore the area. Additionally, the days become longer with more daylight. You can spend more time out and about and enjoy stunning sunsets during dinner or happy hour.
