Fresh from The Ocean
Sushi Kato hand selects the freshest seafood from the markets each day including sea urchin, hairy crab, fresh flounder, enormous scallops and fatty tuna caught the night before in the famous coastal waters of Iwanai. Demonstrating the craft of true artists, Kato-san’s experienced team create exquisitely composed sushi, sashimi and Kaiseki menus featuring local rice and the freshest Hokkaido ingredients including the regions renowned Shiraoi wagyu beef. For those who prefer to feast in the comfort of their suite, Sushi Kato offers a range takeaway options with fresh seafood platters and the largest most delicious crabs of the season.

Centred around a six-seater sushi counter and eight-seater private dining room, Sushi Kato’s offers an extraordinary and intimate culinary experience. Take a place at the sushi counter and be captivated by the skill of the chef’s with the ancient art of sushi making. Bar Kato could be the perfect spot to start or end the evening with its delectable nibbles, and extensive selection of drinks.
Terms & Conditions
- Sushi Kato reserves the right to decline reservations for children under the age of 7.
- The set course menu for children aged 7-11 years is available at half price of the above courses, please note that the portion will be reduced in half.
- Children are allowed at the sushi counter only if they are elementary school age or older (7 years and up).
- The minimum number for a private room is 4 adults. If the room is used for fewer than 4 people, the reservation can be made if the course fee for 4 people is paid.
- Please contact us at least 2 weeks before the reservation date to change the group size of a reservation for 4 people or more.
- Due to possibility of cross contamination, dietary requirements and allergies may be difficult to accommodate. Please contact us in advance if you would like to change the menu due to allergies or other reasons.
- A corkage fee of ¥5,000 per bottle applies.
- Sushi Kato currently accepts the following two payment options:
- Payment by credit card registration on TableCheck (automatic payment after leaving the restaurant)
- Credit card or cash payment on the day at the restaurant
- Please note that we cannot accept reservations outside of business hours, or reservations made by contacting us on the day or the day before the reservation request.
- If you find yourself running late for your reservation due to unexpected traffic or unforeseen circumstances, we kindly request that you notify us as soon as possible. In the event that you do not arrive within 15 minutes of your reserved time without prior communication, we regret to inform you that your reservation will be canceled without notice, and a 100% charge of the reservation fee will apply. Please be aware that extensions to the reservation time will not be possible in cases of lateness. Your understanding and cooperation are greatly appreciated.
- Please note that a cancellation fee will be applied to all cancellations, except those resulting from inclement weather or natural disasters.
- Kindly note our cancellation policy is as follows.
- Summer (April – November)
- If cancelled 5 days prior: 30% of the set course fee will be charged to the credit card used to secure the reservation
- If cancelled 3-4 days prior: 50% of the set course fee will be charged to the credit card used to secure the reservation
- If canceled 2 days prior: 70% of the set course fee will be charged to the credit card used to secure the reservation
- In case of cancellation the day before or no shows without notice: 100% of the set course fee will be charged to the credit card used to secure the reservation
- Winter (December – March)
- If cancelled 10 days prior: 50% of the set course fee will be charged to the credit card used to secure the reservation
- If cancelled 3 days or less prior: 100% of the set course fee will be charged to the credit card used to secure the reservation
- In case of no shows: 100% of the set course fee will be charged to the credit card used to secure the reservation
