Mr. Mishima’s Shibazakura Garden

25 May – 10 June 2025

Spring is still vibrant and thriving even in the later weeks of May when the shibazakura starts blooming in Mr. Mishima’s Garden in Kutchan. Privately owned by Mr. Kazuo Mishima, visitors can admire the carpet of flowers in varying shades of pink, surrounded by yellow rape blossoms, with a gorgeous view of Mt. Yotei in the background.

TOYOTA Gazoo Racing Rally Challenge

31 May – 1 June 2025

Car and racing enthusiasts will be glad to know that the TOYOTA Gazoo Racing Rally Challenge will be coming to Rankoshi this June. The Rally Challenge is a beginner-friendly competition where participants will be driving on public roads, unpaved roads, gravel roads, and the like – unlike circuit races. Everyone is welcome to watch and support the racers, as well as have fun at the TOYOTA Gazoo Racing Park where family and friends can enjoy games and activities.

Padel Hanazono

Padel Opens

1 June – 13 October 2025

Padel, a racquet sport described to be a mix of tennis and squash, is coming to Niseko this summer. HANAZONO is bringing to Niseko the first Padel Club in Hokkaido, and is set to open in mid-June until October. Set in Niseko’s breathtaking mountainous scenery, discover and enjoy the fun of the sport with your family and friends.

Yosakoi Soran

Yosakoi Soran Festival

4 – 8 June 2025

Kicking off the start of summer, Yosakoi Soran Festival is a big dance festival held in Sapporo every June. Based on Kochi Prefecture’s Yosakoi festival, participating teams perform the traditional yosakoi dance to the rhythm of soran bushi, one of Hokkaido’s folk songs. Visitors are treated to a sight of a lively and vibrant Sapporo as over 200 participating teams donning colourful costumes, dancing and performing in different parts of the city.

Otaru Shukutsu

Otaru Shukutsu Herring and Scallop Festival 2025

7 – 8 June 2025

An integration of two festivals: the Nishin Gunrai Festival and the Otate Festival, the Otaru Shukutsu Herring and Scallop Festival is back on its second year. A local community-organized event, people can enjoy freshly charcoal-grilled herring (limited quantity) and scallops – two specialties of the area. Kids can also enjoy other activities such as scallop fishing and the releasing of  young herring to the sea.

Niseko Classic 2025

12 – 15 June 2025

The Niseko Classic 2025 is a bit more special this year as it is held as the pre-event for the 2026 UCI Gran Fondo World Championships to be held also in Niseko next year. Competitive cyclists will be coming to Niseko to participate in various events happening this year. A new event, the team relay, will be happening on 13 June, as well a time trial event on 14 June. On 15 June, the main events, the 80 km and 140 km road race with their new course layouts, will be held. Along with the Niseko Classic events, the Niseko Discovery Cycling event will also be happening as a fun ride where locals, visitors, and families can also join in on the fun on 14 June.

Toyako Manga Anime Festival

Toyako Anime and Manga Festa

28 – 29 June 2025

The Toyako Manga Anime Festa is made for anime and manga lovers held in the town of Toyako Onsen, just an hour away from Niseko. The two-day outdoor festival is filled with events, such as exhibitions, performances, and markets, that people can enjoy and participate in from morning until night. However, one of the highlights of the festival is the Itasha exhibition where people show off their cars elaborately decorated with manga or anime-themed decals or artworks. People are also welcome to come in their cosplay costumes.
