After being voted the World’s Best New Ski Hotel at the World Ski Awards last year, Setsu Niseko continues to garner accolades and recognition for excellence in 2024, concluding a remarkable second year of operations and solidifying its position as one of the top properties in Niseko.
At the start of the year, Setsu Niseko was recognised for the second consecutive year as one of the ‘Best Beach, Island + Upcountry Hotels in Japan’ by the Travel + Leisure Luxury Awards Asia Pacific 2024. By June, the hotel’s wellness centre was also recognised for its stunning ‘Hospitality Interior Architecture’ by the prestigious iF Design Awards.
After our second nomination at this year’s World Ski Awards for Japan’s Best Ski Hotel Category was announced, we also received the happy news that Setsu Niseko was one of the 108 select hotels in Japan to receive the distinguished honour of a One MICHELIN Key. A new rating system released by the illustrious MICHELIN Guide that recognises exceptional hotels worldwide, akin to the much coveted MICHELIN Star system for restaurants.
Most recently on 24 November, Setsu Niseko was announced as part of ‘Tatler Asia’s Best of 100’ in the hotel category. This recognition, awarded by a jury of Tatler editors, travel experts, and industry leaders, underscores the hotel’s reputation as one of Asia’s most celebrated luxury destinations.
A heartfelt congratulations to the entire Setsu Niseko team on being recognised as one of Asia’s leading luxury properties in ‘Tatler’s 100 Best in Asia’. This exceptional achievement stands as a testament to the team’s hard work, dedication, and the trust of our guests,” says Simon Cheong, Founder and Chairman of SC Global Developments, and the visionary behind Setsu Niseko.
“We are immensely proud of Setsu’s accomplishments including its recent Michelin Key and voted World’s Best New Ski Hotel 2023. With excellence ingrained in our DNA, we are committed to growing within the ever-changing landscape of luxury travel to satisfy our guest’s evolving needs.”
Setsu Niseko’s Hotel Manager, Michiko Tamoto, also expressed her delight at this year’s achievements. “I am truly honoured to have received numerous prestigious awards this year. Being able to receive such recognition is thanks to the support of our guests, our local community, and our Setsu team.”
She added, “Since the opening of the hotel in 2022, we have continuously strived to provide all our guests with the best possible experience, helping create the best cherished moments for every season in Niseko. Moving forward, the Setsu Niseko team will continue to work hard to ensure every guest will have memorable experiences with us.”
