Marking a strong start to our 2025-26 Winter Season, Setsu Niseko was announced as Japan’s Best Ski Hotel at the 2025 World Ski Awards, the only global awards programme dedicated to celebrating and rewarding excellence in ski tourism.
After a 16-week long voting period where industry leaders, professionals, and ski enthusiasts voted for their favourite ski brands, hotels, and destinations, the results of the winners for each category was announced on 10 November 2025. A welcome news that came just a month after we were selected, once again, as a One MICHELIN Key Hotel for the second year in a row, a much coveted accolade that recognises outstanding hotels from all over the world.
Simon Cheong, Founder and Chairman of SC Global Developments, and the visionary behind Setsu Niseko, commented on this remarkable achievement, “This continued recognition by the World Ski Awards and Michelin Group is a testament to SC Global Developments’ commitment to creating experiences that combine thoughtful design, Japanese craftsmanship, and genuine service. Additionally, we also had the honour of being selected as one of the ‘Best Beach, Island + Upcountry Hotels’ at the Travel + Leisure Luxury Awards Asia Pacific 2025, and our very own in-house Rikka Spa winning 3 categories at the World Luxury Spa Awards: Best Luxury Ski Resort Spa in Asia, Best Luxury Mountain Resort Spa in East Asia, Best Luxury Onsen Spa in East Asia.
These accolades reflect our heartfelt commitment to offering exceptional hospitality and refined service, bringing us closer to our vision of becoming not just an award-winning ski hotel, but a destination for every season.
