For Elisse Joson, an actress from the Philippines, her second visit was all about rest, renewal, and quiet moments away from the regular hustle of life. We had the opportunity to sit down with her as she shares her stay and wellness experience at Setsu Niseko.
Since this is your second time in Niseko, what did you look forward to the most coming back here? What was the first thing you did arriving here?
Coming back to Niseko felt really special because the first time I came here, I completely fell in love with the atmosphere, the snow, the food, and the calmness of the place. This time I was really looking forward to experiencing it a little more slowly and soaking everything in again.
The first thing I did when I arrived was just settle into the room and take in the view. There’s something about seeing the snowy landscape outside that immediately puts you in a relaxed mood.
What kind of trip were you taking this time?
This trip felt more like a wellness and recharge trip for me. The first time I visited Niseko, it was more about the excitement of discovering everything. This time I wanted to slow down a bit — enjoy the snow, try different experiences in the hotel, and really take advantage of the peaceful environment.
What were your first impressions of Setsu Niseko?
My first impression was how beautifully designed everything is. It feels very modern but still very warm and cosy, which is exactly what you want in a winter destination. The attention to detail is amazing, from the interiors to the overall atmosphere it really feels like a luxurious mountain retreat.
What was your favourite part of your suite?
I loved how spacious and comfortable the suite was. It felt like a home away from home. The big windows with the snowy views were definitely my favourite part, waking up to that scenery every morning was really special.
How was your Sound Bath experience at Studio En?
The Sound Bath at Studio En was such a unique experience. It was incredibly calming and grounding. The sounds and vibrations really helped me relax and slow down. It felt like a beautiful wellness moment during the trip.
Were there any other facilities in our hotel that you enjoyed? How was it?
Yes, I really enjoyed exploring the hotel’s wellness facilities. After spending time outside in the cold, it’s so nice to come back and relax. Everything felt very thoughtfully designed to help guests unwind and recharge. I also loved the wide array of restaurant options in Setsu. I felt like I didn’t have to go far to get a taste of Niseko!
What experience stood out the most during your trip?
Honestly, it’s the combination of everything. The snow, the food, the peaceful environment, and the beautiful stay at Setsu. But one of my favourite moments was simply enjoying the quiet winter atmosphere and slowing down from the usual busy pace of life.
How was your overall stay in Setsu Niseko?
My stay was wonderful. It felt very relaxing and comfortable from start to finish. The team was incredibly welcoming, and everything felt very thoughtfully done. It’s one of those places where you can really unwind and enjoy the moment. You can find everything in one place.
Are you thinking of coming back to Niseko again?
Definitely. Niseko is one of those places that you want to return to again and again. Every season feels like it would offer a different experience, so I would absolutely love to come back.
How would you describe your stay with us to a friend? Would you recommend us?
I would describe it as a relaxing luxury escape in the mountains. It’s the kind of place where you can enjoy beautiful nature while also having a very comfortable and elevated stay. I would absolutely recommend Setsu Niseko to friends who are visiting Niseko.
