This family-friendly activity is a great way to enjoy Niseko’s natural landscapes, while learning how to navigate the river and fish for your favourite breed, from rainbow trout to landlocked salmon. Depending on the weather and season, our experienced guides can take you to the perfect spot to get the best catch. All tours come with all the fishing gear you need to enjoy the experience.

  • All guests participating in fishing trips must be 11 years of age or older. If a guest is under the age of 11, a parent or legal guardian may sign this waiver on their behalf. By doing so, the parent or guardian accepts full responsibility for the child’s safety, behavior, and adherence to all rules and instructions during the trip.

This service is exclusive to Setsu Niseko guests.

Guests under the influence of alcohol and pregnant guests may not participate in the activities.

All guests participating in fishing trips must be 11 years of age or older. If a guest is under the age of 11, a parent or legal guardian may sign this waiver on their behalf. By doing so, the parent or guardian accepts full responsibility for the child’s safety, behavior, and adherence to all rules and instructions during the trip

Cancellation within the specific time frame before booking commencement will incur a cancellation fee as shown below:

  • Booking must be made at least 5 days in advance of the tour.
  • If the tour is cancelled 5 days before, on the day or No-Show: a 100% cancellation fee will be charged.
  • Cancellation includes changes that reduce the overall value of the booking and no-shows.
  • No cancellation fee will be charged if the tour is cancelled due to bad weather conditions or by the discretion of the service provider.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need to bring for the activity?

  • We recommend taking or bringing motion sickness pills in case of seasickness.
  • There may be days that you may feel cold on the boat, we recommend that you prepare an extra outer layer.
  • Sun-protective gear like a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen.
  • Water to prevent heatstroke.
  • A cooler for taking fish home to Niseko. Styrofoam box and ice are available if you do not have a cooler.
  • Cameras and electronic devices are your own responsibility.

What should I wear for the activity?

  • We recommend wearing long sleeves to protect against mosquitoes. We also recommend avoiding flashy colours.
  • Watches or Jewellery: Please remove all watches and jewellery before the tour starts.
  • Waders are waterproof, but water can sometimes penetrate. We recommend that you wear trousers that can get wet, just in case.
  • Waders with boots are provided for the fishing tours but please wear walking shoes when you arrive.
  • Make sure to wear socks.
